Whew! I have really been on a movie binge lately. From Red Box to Netflix… the last few weeks, I think I’ve watched more movies than the last 10 years combined! Let’s see, I’ve seen 2012, Angels & Demons, It’s Complicated, Julie & Julia, Ironman, Star Trek, The Four Horseman, The Proposal, Into the Wild, How to get rid of guy in 10 days, Ghost Writer, Shutter Island and many that I watched for 10 minutes and gave up! Haha!
2012… what can I say? An amazing limousine! Enjoyed the scene where the plane flew between the Wynn and the Encore while it was collapsing.
Angels & Demons… Fast, dizzying pace set in Rome. It was like getting a city tour of the Vatican and Rome at fast forward, quite a breath taker.
It’s Complicated… Meryl Streep!!! It was hilarious! Streep has gotten older, but what a dame! The ‘girls’ chatting scenes had me laughing so hard that my Mom thought I went crazy in my room.
Julie & Julia… watch it with one eye and keep that eye on Meryl. The other half of the story was… pretty awful.
Ironman… another comic hero. Boring!!!
Star Trek… this movie gave me an interesting feeling. It was like it was playing with my head. The characters are all familiar… but still a breath of fresh air. It kept unbelievably close to the original personalities of each of the characters and the essence of that television show. I am not a Trekie but this is by far the best Star Trek movie without the Shatner and Nimoy. Actually I really like the character of McCoy!
The Four Horsemen… the only thing I keep asking myself throughout the movie was… how the heck did they film THAT?!? The crime scenes were pretty… gruesome.
The Proposal… cute.
Into the Wild… beautiful sceneries! Seriously, this movie (biography) was interesting. Half way thru the movie, I was thinking… this boy needed a psychiatrist. The glimpses of the love he extended to one outside his own immediate family were quite poignant. The old man… that scene was a tear jerker. I didn’t cry when he died at the end but felt a sense of sadness that it was his parents that he thought of before he finally passed.
How to get rid of guy in 10 days… light hearted, predictable, cliché. Mindless entertainment. Carly Simon would choke on their rendition of her song, You’re so Vain. Haha!
Ghost Writer… interesting.
Shutter Island… trippy! Did he really know the “truth” at the end? I think so…
Any good suggestions for what movie I should watch next? Hey, for $8.99 a month, I can watch all the movies I want. Don’t want to waste any money now do we? XDDDD
My list already have… a bunch of Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, The Blind Side, Children of Invention, Another Woman, The Ugly Truth, The Lovely Bones, Mrs. Henderson Presents, The Bucket List, Mama Mia!, Up in the Air, Atonement, Percy Jackson – the Lightning Thief, Sex in the City, and… (this one I can’t wait to see) Eat,Pray,Love.
