Pieces of Paradise: Waimea Falls Park, Oahu, Hawai’i

WaimeaFallsOahuHawaii - Cropped

One can actually swim in that natural pool…

White_peacock

A white peacock… isn’t he beautiful?

You’re probably wondering why I am posting these photos, right?  I didn’t even take these pictures.  Hmm… I did add a new description to this blog… “Little pieces of my mind… Tiny pieces of my heart”   With Facebook dragging up old friends… a stroll down nostalgia lane was and actually very good for my soul!

These pictures bring back a lot of happy memories.  This place became one of my favorite places when I would play tour guide or just for the heck of it… cruising around the island.  There are so many peacocks at this park, just roaming around.  There are a few white ones and they are so… beautiful and elegant.  It is really a gorgeous place and I wanted to share a piece of paradise with you.

High School Graduation Song…

My high school reunion… is coming up this year.  This was my graduation song, it was actually written by Kui Lee, who was born in Shanghai.  He defined a new generation of “Island” music.   There are 3 recorded versions of this song, this one by Elvis, one by Don Ho, and another by the Makaha Sons of Ni’ihau.  Remember singing this on graduation day and couldn’t stop crying.  But when it all over and we threw our caps into the wind… I was so happy and couldn’t stop laughing!

I'll Remember You - Words & music by Kui Lee

I'll remember you
Long after this endless summer is gone
I'll be lonely, oh so lonely
Living only to remember you
I'll remember too
Your voice as soft as a warm summer breeze
Your sweet laughter mornings after
Every after I'll remember you

Chorus:

To your arms some day
I'll return to stay 'til then
I will remember too
Every bright star we made wishes upon
Love me always promise always
You'll remember too

The lyrics are simple, the melody sweet… Elvis made it into a classic.

(Drink a glass of soya bean milk before going to sleep)

(Fruits are better than vegetables)
(Green tea is better than plain water)
(A cup of coffee daily is good for you)
(Sweet potato can get rid of cancerous cells)

(Proactive cough)
(Drink a glass of plain water after getting up in the morning)
(Do exercises~sweat it out!)
(Drink fruit and vegetable juices, they are good for you)
( Sea weeds are also good for you)
(Green bean soup helps metabolism~and I need all the help I can get!)

Oh, the English… I rephrased it a little.

The cutest guy I know gave me a flower!

Micky

Isn’t he handsome?   He gives me such adoration!  I love it!  Yes, I know that he is a little young but you know what they say about puppy love!  Haha!  Now your next thought is I better see nn for a session the minute I set my foot on HK soil.

Criminal Minds Quotes

One of the reasons why I like this series so much is because some of the great quotes.  Here are a few.

“Ideologies separates us. Dreams and anguish brings us together.” Quote by Eugene Ionesco.

"Almost all absurdity of conduct arises from the imitation of those who we cannot resemble." Quote by Samuel Johnson.

Sir Francis Bacon said, "In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present."

The author François de la Rochefoucauld wrote, "We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves."

It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone." Rose Kennedy.

Theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer said "The test of the morality of a society is what it does for its children."

Plato wrote "We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light."

It’s too bad that it seems like channel USA and TNT is broadcasting the same shows… I’m starting to watch repeats.  Well, at least it’s the first two seasons because I really like Jason Gideons character.

“Can you be my pal?”

Cat and lapdog in studio

After nine episodes…

A photo to match the main theme…

Sun Flower

Fourth episode, the paving for future episodes regarding how each individual perceives love and relationships.  Just curious, why does Edmond know so much about Tony and 井喬 seems like she just joined the company recently.  Still enjoy Ming Sir and her interaction, whereas, Edmond might love his wife but is showing signs of exasperation.  I might be wrong but it looks like there might be some type romantic development between Edmond and Kitty in the future.  At least, there is admiration in Kitty’s eyes when she overhears the conversation between Edmond and Tony regarding how Edmond would handle the situation.  I wonder if Edmond and 井喬 are a “young” couple.  By that I mean, did they know each for a long time before getting married?  Seems like with just 4-5 episodes, I already get this feeling that they are growing apart.

Fifth episode, another paving for the future for letting the audience know that 井喬 is a very talented designer if she puts her mind to it.  Right now, her first and only priority is her husband, Edmond.  He can do no wrong.  I give credit to 明姑娘 for putting up with her antics but I suppose she really respects and admires Edmond.  (井喬 actions reminded me of someone I know in real life, a long time ago… she over steps the line with her “friends” because she thinks her husband is indispensible, but to her chagrin, she found out that no one is irreplaceable.

Hanauma Bay…

Hanauma_Bay_Oahu_Hawaii

I posted this picture on wp… just for the sake of showing some beautiful scenery.  Didn’t realized that there is actually a lot emotions and memories attached to this place.  I love this beach… I remember Mom and Dad taking me there for a weekend when I seven and the fishes were so beautiful!  There are fishes swimming next to you even at very shallow waters but there are so much coral.  I had cut my toe on it, still remember that when they wrapped it up… the toe was so BIG!

Deep Sea 2

It wasn’t so commercialized back then.  The parking lot wasn’t even paved back then and I could feed the fishes with bread crumbs.  The beach was not crowded at all, now… you can’t even walk without being afraid that you might step on someone.

In college, this beach was an excursion destination for Astronomy 101.  There are no lights there, so the stars are especially bright.  I mean it is really beautiful!

Can you feel the trade winds?

Photoxpress_443593

Light breezes that caresses and kisses your face to take all the your worries… stress…  out to sea.  When one lies on the a sun setting beach with the sand still warm from the sunshine and twinkling stars are peeking out behind the clouds… then the waves starts to roll in a little stronger and a light mist of ocean spray touches you.  Believe me, nothing much beats that feeling.  Imagine it… feel it… one day, experience it.

Something to cheer me up…

 Photoxpress_563439

Shhhhh… I am taking my vitamin D.

第三集

I finally figured it out why I didn’t seem to like the show as much as the other girls…Cultural gap!  Haha!  Different culture… different way to see the characters.  Oh well…

第二集

Better… like the scene between 李思捷 and 毛姐 in the living room.  Their interaction was humorous.  I didn’t mention it before but who is that girl singing in the end… not a pretty sight!  Hey!  I am just being honest!   I bet the lost ruby was accidently given to the construction worker and he puts it on the mirror frame.

第一集

I am writing this here and only here… the first episode was disappointing overall.  Who stood out for me was 徐榮.  I liked the scene at the buffet table with 李司棋.  He was natural and quite adorable.  Unfortunately the whole show did not tickle my funny bone.  Maybe I just couldn’t relate.  I’ll give it more time.

Going in circles…

Cool me! It’s all in the mind!

refreshing

Don’t forget to spike it!  Wheeeeeeeee!  Now that is cool!

Hmm… time to change the background of my blog…

Summer is here…

Desert

Ahhhhh!  Forgot what 100+ degree weather is like... it’s like stepping into an pre-heated oven.   Summer is suppose to be beaches, water sports, palm trees and shaved ice.  Well, actually that’s almost every day in Hawaii.  Haha!  Las Vegas?  Just very blue skies without clouds and lots of and lots of DRY HEAT!  Well, it’s a little better than Death Valley.  Wonder what makes those crazy tourist go to Death Valley in the middle of summer with an average temperature over 110… your sneaker bottoms could melt!  Winter, I like.  I can wrap myself with sweaters and coats.  Summer?  Can’t take off anymore clothes!  Don’t think the world is ready for that!  Neither am I!  Hahahaha!

This last week has been a tremendous strain.  Work has been hectic but that’s normal, I can handle that.  It is when it comes to family, that I can’t split myself in half.  Over the years, I have always wondered why I am where I am now.  What led me down this path…   was I a mistake that shouldn’t have happened?  I have an older brother by eleven years, didn’t live with him since I was ten.  He went away for school to the east coast and never came back to live with us again.  Since I was able to have some intelligent thought, I have never liked him.  He’s a penny pinching, self righteous, greedy, selfish and a totally awful being.  Of course I can’t tell my parents that because he’s their only son.  Both mom and dad are ill now and he is still pressing for money, what the hell is wrong with him?  Just go get a job and concentrate on it!!  There aren’t many people I hate in life, just 3… I don’t want anything to do with them and one of them is my brother.  How laughable is that?  I am just fed up with him.  Pent up anger can really make a person sick.  I need to find a way out of this…

My cousin in law came to visit and asked my a question that had me thinking… is that what a “husband” is for?   Her question was… I just shook my head and smiled.  I have seen too many relationships go bad in my life.  It is just another emotional burden that I can’t seen to handle or want to handle.  (I know this is depressing, but just let me say my piece. )  Just let me live out this life as meaningful as I can.  Let me be…
