Rest in peace

After the initial shock, I finally accepted the truth of the fact that you are no longer with us.  Sue called me yesterday and I got the confirmation from her.  I know now that it was your wish that when you so very ill in the hospital, you did not want me and King to come rushing up to SF to see you.  Our last memory of you was our trip this last June, to celebrate your birthday and and your life.  I am so grateful that I made that trip.  Seeing you happy and just having fun really made that trip a very special weekend.  Now, I will forever treasure those moments.

19 years ago, when I first met you… I was the young kid on the “block” and haven’t even started singing yet.  I still remember when we were having coffee at Zippy’s and you told me that I should learn how to play the Erhu and that you would teach me and I had the audacity to tell you “No…”  When CT kicked me underneath the table and rushed to try to cover for me… you just laughed and asked me why.  I remember your exact words… Do you remember how I answered? Then you stretched out both hands and let me inspected them.  I found… nothing, except very delicate fingers!
